Blue Tarps
Sigman blue tarps are 5 mil waterproof poly tarps built for roof tarps, hurricane tarps, and emergency roof cover. Woven from reinforced polyethylene with a UV-protective coating on both sides, they shed rain, block sun, and hold up to wind when secured properly. Sigman blue tarps run thicker than the super-thin blue tarps sold at most hardware stores, and ship fast (1–2 days) from our Atlanta, GA warehouse to the entire Southeast and East Coast — including Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Texas, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

- Emergency roof tarps — cover storm, hurricane, and wind damage fast

How Blue Tarps Compare to Other Poly Tarps
Blue is the 5 mil entry tier in the poly tarp family. It is the go-to color for roof, hurricane, and emergency cover. When you need a tarp that lasts more than a season or two, step up the mil ladder:
| Collection | True mil | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Blue Tarps (this collection) | 5 mil | Roof / hurricane / emergency cover |
| Brown Economy Tarps | 5 mil | Budget short-term cover (HOA-friendly color) |
| Green/Silver Tarps | 8 mil | Backyard, landscaping, camping |
| Heavy Duty Silver Tarps | 10 mil | All-weather canopy, roof, and equipment cover |
| Heavy Duty White Tarps | 10 mil | Bright, light-blocking shade cover |

7 Ways to Make Your Blue Tarp Last Longer
- Use ball bungee cords to tie down — they stretch in wind and reduce grommet tear.
- Use as many grommets as possible — wind load can reach hundreds of pounds, so distribute it.
- Don't let wind get under the tarp — tamp it down and strap over the top.
- Keep standing water, snow, and ice off the tarp — pooling weight sags and tears tarps.
- Cover sharp corners and edges first — they are the number-one cause of tarp failure.
- Don't let the tarp bear any load — a tarp covers a load, it doesn't carry one.
- Buy a thicker tarp — Sigman blue tarps are heavier than typical super-thin blue tarps.
